The One Heart, One Texas Award

The Texas Alpha Delta Kappa goals in the categories of communication, membership, altruism, and world understanding are important for keeping our organization strong and relevant in today’s world.

If each chapter will accomplish all the following tasks and become a seven-heart chapter, Texas Alpha Delta Kappa will continue to have compassion and love for each sister. Recognition of these awards will be announced at the state convention. Partial credit will be given to chapters not completing all seven categories.

Heart # 1:

Communication: Send a minimum of six newsletters OR chapter minutes each year of the biennium to all the state board members – this will include the state president, the president of the chapter presidents’ council, and the district mentor.

Heart # 2:

Membership: Initiate or reinstate one member each year of the biennium OR host a membership event – includes either a tea, party, reception, or other fun event.

Heart # 3:

State Altruistic Project: Have a chapter program dealing with Texas CASA OR participate in one of TX CASA fundraisers OR volunteer in a position for TX CASA OR make a monetary contribution to TX CASA each year of the biennium.

The scholarship may be from the first or second year of the biennium.

Heart # 7: (First year of the Biennium Only):

Chapter Policies and Procedures and Official Policy Statement -- Since each Texas chapter can choose whether they wish to adhere to the International ByLaws of Alpha Delta Kappa and their chapter policies and procedures OR their chapter bylaws and International Bylaws of Alpha Delta Kappa, and if your chapter chooses to use the chapter policies and procedures, submit  the Official Policy Statement signed and dated by the president and treasurer of the chapter to their district president by March 1, 2023. This will give the chapter the 7th Heart!!
